Lamar man injured in car-motorcycle collision on I-49

A Lamar man was injured in a two-vehicle accident 3:35 a.m. today on I-49, three miles north of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Honda Accord driven by Atanael A. Elias-Gonzalez, 23, Carthage, was merging onto the interstate and struck a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Michael W. Wilkinson, 33, Lamar. The motorcycle overturned and Wilkinson was ejected.

Wilkinson was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.
