According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2016 Toyota Tacoma driven by Gregory E. Leyva, 33, Noel, crossed the center of the road and struck a bridge abutment.
Leyva, who was also cited for careless and imprudent driving and for not having a valid license or wearing a seat belt, was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
