Joplin teen injured in two-vehicle collision on I-44

A Joplin teen was injured in a two-vehicle accident 5:35 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound I-44 seven miles west of Republic.

According to the Highway Patrol, a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Danielle S. Youngblood, 18, Joplin, slowed to make a left turn in an emergency-only turnaround when it was struck in the rear by a 2011 Freightliner driven by Stephen J. Button, 22, Eagleville. The Youngblood car continued off the left side of the roadway and struck a median barrier.

Youngblood was taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with moderate injuries.
