A Monett man has been charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of vehicular assault following a one-car accident 2:03 a.m. today on Farm Road 1090 one mile south of Monett.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 2001 Ford Focus driven by Gabreiel V. Caballero, 29, ran off the roadway and struck a creek bed.
Two passengers in the car were injured. Angel Cardenas, 31, Monett, was taken to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries, while Jessie Cardenas, 11, Monett, was treated at Cox Hospital, Monett, for minor injuries.
Caballero was also cited for endangering the welfare of a child and careless and imprudent driving.
