Medical emergency causes Jasper man's death after truck-barn collision

A Jasper man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 12:15 p.m. today at Route M, five miles north of Purcell.

According to the Highway Patrol report, David L. Bower, 61, Jasper, driving a 2001 GMC truck, had a medical emergency as his vehicle was on private property. He accelerated the truck and ran into a barn. The truck crossed the road and came to rest in a creek bed.

Jasper County Coroner Rob Chappel prononced Bower dead at the scene at 1:40 p.m.

The fatality was the fourth in 2015 for Highway Patrol Troop D.
