The Southern Broadcasters Club at Missouri Southern State University is seeking submissions for a horror film festival, to be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Corley Auditorium.
The film festival is open to the community, with submissions to be no more than 15 minutes long and held to the ratings standards of a PG-13 film.
“The festival is open to everyone,” said Brianna Allen, a junior mass communication/broadcasting major and president of Southern Broadcasters. “It could be a horror movie or even a parody of one.
“This is our club’s first full semester. We want to promote film, TV and broadcasting and encourage people to do independent projects.”
Submissions should be uploaded to YouTube, with the link emailed to southernbroadcasters@gmail.com by no later than midnight on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Admission to the film festival will be $5 for the general public, and $3 for MSSU students with ID, with tickets available at the door. Proceeds raised during the event will benefit the student organization, as well as to help purchase new equipment for KGCS, the campus television station.
