Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization to meet Thursday

(From the City of Joplin)

There will be a public meeting of the Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) Policy Board on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. at the Joplin City Hall 5th Floor Study, 602 South Main Street, Joplin, Missouri. Items that will be discussed include the 2035 Long-Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, and the Ozone Advance Program. These items will be reviewed but not approved.

The Ozone Advance Program is a collaborative effort by the EPA, states, tribes, and local governments to encourage emission reductions in attainment areas, to help them continue to meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for ozone and fine particles. The TIP contains transportation and transit projects in the Joplin Metropolitan Area that are partially funded by Federal transportation programs during a four year period (2016-2019). The Long Range Transportation Plan is a planning document that spans twenty years and drives transportation improvement and projects in the Metropolitan Planning Area.
