The Joplin Public Library invites the community of Joplin to a farewell reception honoring Teen Librarian Cari Rérat for her service to Joplin. The come-and-go event will be held on Monday, September 28, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Joplin Public Library’s teen department.
Rérat began her library career in the circulation department as a page, she later moved to the children’s department where she worked as a children’s assistant for a short time, and then quickly progressed to become the Library’s first teen librarian. She has been with the Library for ten year and has resigned her post for an opportunity to become the director of Thomas J. Harrison Pryor Public Library in Pryor, Oklahoma. Her last day at the library will be September 29, 2015.
