Joplin, MO. The Alliance of Southwest Missouri is excited to host its First Annual Safe Kids Downtown Dash and Safety Fair.
This FREE event, sponsored by Johnson, Vorhees, and Martucci Attorneys at Law, will take place in front of the Gryphon Building in downtown Joplin on Saturday, September 26, 2015. The fun run is for children in kindergarten to fifth grade and will immediately be followed by a Safety Fair featuring all kinds of fun activities for families. The Alliance will be closing Main Street the morning of the 26th for the Downtown Dash from 10th-15th street. Onsite registration for the run will begin at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Gryphon Building.
Parents or guardians may also register their children online at www.theallianceofswmo.org. Children in fourth and fifth grade will run first, with their races beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Second and third graders will run at 9:10 a.m. and kindergartners and first graders will run at 9:40 a.m. Immediately following the dash,
The Alliance will host a Safety Fair which will be located in the south portion of the Gryphon Building parking lot. The fair will host numerous local businesses, Joplin PD, Joplin Fire Fighters, and Joplin METs. The fair will also start at 8:30 a.m. and will end at Noon.
The Alliance, as a whole, focuses and promotes the healthy lifestyle of children and the community. The Safe Kids Downtown Dash and Safety Fair is a way to instill the idea in our children that exercise is fun and learning how to stay safe is enjoyable.
