A Joplin man was killed in a one-car accident 10:20 p.m. Sunday on Malang Road, 2.5 miles west of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Dodge Dart driven by Gary L. Gibson, 25, Joplin, ran off the roadway and struck a culvert and a tree and overturned onto its top.Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:39 p.m. by Jasper County Deputy Coroner Shawn Woodward.
The fatality was the 90th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
