Crowder agriculture students shine at state competition

Crowder College competed at the Missouri Post-Secondary Agriculture Students (PAS) Conference in St. Louis, MO on November 11-14, 2015. Eighteen different contests were held, concerning various aspects of career preparation including, public speaking, employment interview, industry knowledge exams, and career planning research. Thirty-six Crowder Aggies placed in their individual and team events at the state level in order to qualify for the national contest. Participants from across the state, representing six colleges convened at the conference. The coveted state champion College Bowl title was also won by the Crowder Aggie team. Team members include: Jimmy Hickman (Halfway, MO); Erin Kitsmiller (Schell City, MO); Lee Neidigh (Jasper, MO); Nik Manley (Goodman, MO); Zayne Aldrich (Neosho, MO).

Jorge Zapata, Crowder College Agriculture instructor emphasized, “Crowder College was well represented by our students, who did an excellent job showcasing their talents and skills against the best ag students in the state.”

The agriculture division is also pleased to announce that three Crowder Aggies were selected from over 15 candidates to serve as five of the state PAS officers. Hailey Gilbreath (Carl Junction, MO) – Vice President; Jesika Hall (Anderson, MO) -Secretary and Lee Neidigh (Jasper, MO) - Treasurer.
