MSSU students take first place in honor society competition

(From Southern News Service)

Three Missouri Southern State University students took first place overall during the recent Team Pitch competition held in conjunction with the 2015 Delta Mu Delta Biennial Conference in Kansas City.

Delta Mu Delta officers Holly Loncarich, Viktoryia Johnson and Theresa Peterson were presented with the award during a banquet dinner at the conference held last month. It was presented by Jeffrey Alderman, president and CEO of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs.

The challenge – which pitted them against counterparts from other DMD chapters around the country – was to present a marketing plan for the 2017 biennial conference, including theme, logo, breakout sessions, speakers, etc. The judges ranked the marketing plan presentations, looking for a “package” that was both informative and engaging.

Loncarich, of Joplin, is a senior international business major; Peterson, of Edgerton, Mo., is a senior marketing major; Johnson, of Belarus, is a senior human resource management major. Their chapter sponsor is Dr. Jonathan Adongo.

Delta Mu Delta is a business honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through lifetime membership.
