Today we learned that Micayla Christenson, a senior student at Joplin High School, passed away last night. Our hearts and thoughts are with her family and her friends during this sad and difficult time. We have made counseling services available for students at Joplin High School and at Flex where she attended. Information regarding funeral services is not available at this time.
We will continue to offer counseling services for students throughout the week and beyond as needed. Parents who have concerns about their student's reaction to this loss should contact their counselor or an administrator at Joplin High School at 625-5230. We are here to help and have resources available for students and families.
