Students at Missouri Southern State University will have a chance to explore opportunities to broaden their horizons during the Study Abroad Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.
Presented by the Institute of International Studies, the fair will spotlight the faculty-led, short-term trips scheduled for 2017, as well as opportunities for students to spend an entire semester or year abroad through the International Student Exchange Program, the Missouri London program and Missouri Southern’s partner universities.
Kabibo International Internships, operated by Brande (Davis) Leopoldo, a 2004 International Business/Spanish graduate of MSSU, will provide information about internships in Indonesia (coffee industry), Chile (wine industry), the Philippines (tourism), Singapore, France and Germany. KEI Abroad, which offers affordable programs that integrate courses, internships and cultural interaction, will also be present.
The faculty-led trips are for academic credit. Missouri Southern students who have a 2.5 GPA and full-time status are eligible for $1,000 study abroad grants. Opportunities include Medieval Voyage, Quest & Pilgrimage to London and other locations (May 15-25); Business in Ukraine and Germany (May 14-27); Roots of Science to England (May 16-30); Cuban History & Society (May 18-25); Spanish Language and Culture (May 19-June 17); Art of Korea (May 23-June 1); and Summer in Sweden (May 24-June 28).
