Jasper Police arrest Lamar, Liberal residents on drug charges

On Friday, August 4th at 10:04 pm, a Jasper officer made contact with 3 persons in a silver Kia Optima with a Tennessee license of N9310L parked in the front of Petes Convenience Store. Contact was made in reference to suspicious activity.

Contact was made with the driver, Cesily Peters of Lamar, the front passenger, Chanstin Besendorfer of Lamar and the back right passenger Colton Linsteadt of Liberal.

After observing open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle, and the subjects appearing under or close to 21, the officer requested they exit the vehicle. 

After Linsteadt exited the vehicle, The officer observed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe lying on the seat where Linsteadt was sitting. Linsteadt admitted the pipe was his and it was in fact a marijuana pipe. Linsteadt also had a baggy containing marijuana in his pant pocket. 

A search of the vehicle was conducted where the following was conducted.... A Black zip up pouch was found in a purse on the front seat that Besendorfer claimed was hers. 

Inside the pouch was a Glass pipe with a white powder residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine, a plastic baggy with a small amount of white powder inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine, a plastic baggy with a small amount of marijuana inside, and a multi colored glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue. 

Besendorfer was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Jail. Linsteadt was issued citations for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
