A Knnsas City, Kansas man was injured in a two-vehicle accident 4:40 a.m. today on U. S. 71, one mile south of Jane.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2017 Kenworth Conventional driven by James E. Merritt, 48, Kansas City, Kansas, crossed the center of the road and struck a 2003 Dodge 1500 driven by Jose Gomez-Rogel, 48, Rogers, Arkansas, head on.
Merritt was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
