(From Highway Patrol Troop D)
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 7, 2018, a state trooper stopped an eastbound 2017 Nissan Altima for exceeding the posted speed limit on Interstate 44, near the 31.4-mile marker, in Jasper County. Suspicious circumstances led the trooper to a probable cause search of the vehicle. The search revealed 2.2 pounds of cocaine concealed behind the center console, near the floor, beneath the radio and air controls.
The driver, Isaac M. Flores, 24, of El Paso, TX, was arrested for second degree drug trafficking. Flores was transported to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office in Carthage, MO.
The charge for which Flores was arrested is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
