Joplin Public Library to accept passport applications

(From the Joplin Public Library)

Joplin Public Library is pleased to announce that effective September 4, 2018 it will accept passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports seven days per week at 1901 E 20th Street in Joplin.

Appointments are strongly suggested, although walk-ins will be accommodated if at all possible. Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The Library will accept applications from 30 minutes after opening until one hour before closing.

“JPL is pleased to offer this service to the community,” said Jacque Gage, Library Director. “People have busy schedules and may not be able to complete errands or address specific needs, such as applying for a passport, during the work week. We’re happy to have the resources to help them and make it available during an extended schedule.”

For application forms, information on documentation required, fees, and other passport and international travel information, please visit the only official website for passport information – travel.state.gov.
