Welcome week events planned at Missouri Southern State University

With students set to start moving in on Thursday (tomorrow), the campus is prepared to welcome everyone back with a variety of activities.

All-Employee Welcome Back Ceremony

8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug 17, Taylor Performing Arts Center. It’s a chance to hear from Dr. Alan Marble and members of the President’s Cabinet about what’s happening on campus and what the university’s priorities will be going forward.

The keynote speaker will be Nicole Lynn, a sports agent and Tulsa native who has an inspiring story and message to share.

Yours to Lose Green Coat Ceremony

10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, Corley Auditorium. The induction ceremony will welcome the newest cohort for the Yours to Lose – Advanced Medical School Acceptance Program.

First-Year Student Convocation

2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, Taylor Performing Arts Center. First-year students and their families will be welcomed to Missouri Southern during this special ceremony.

Campus Craze

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, on the Oval. This annual event features food, music, campus tours and more.

17th Annual Welcome Week Picnic

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, on the Oval.

Campus Involvement Day

10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, on the Oval. Students, new and old, have the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of student organizations on campus.

Community Day


10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, on the Oval. Career Services will host representatives from area businesses, non-profits and other organizations. Students are invited to come and sample products and explore job and volunteer opportunities.

President’s Ice Cream Social


10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, Billingsly Student Center. Dr. Alan Marble and other members of Missouri Southern’s administration will welcome everyone back to campus with ice-cream sundaes. They’ll only be available while supplies last, so don’t be late!
