Shoplifting call leads Joplin Police to drug arrests and recovery of more than 60 stolen items,

Sunday afternoon at 3:36 p.m. officers responded to a store on Range Line for a report of shoplifting.

A male was concealing items within his clothing. When officers were on the way, the suspects left in a white Ford Ranger and the driver was throwing items from the vehicle. 

Dispatch then received a call that a white Ford Ranger was involved in a crash east of 20th and Range Line. 

Once it was all sorted out, both occupants of the truck were arrested. The passenger was arrested for stealing, possession of marijuana and felony possession of a controlled substance. 



The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. 

The truck was towed and approximately 27 stolen items were recovered. Officers also seized 36 other items in the packaging that appear to have been stolen from other stores.
