After manhunt, Barton County Sheriff, Lamar Police capture Aurora man wanted on felony warrant

On 05-20-2019 three subjects were contacted in the Lamar Walmart Parking lot at approximately 12:00 a.m.

During that contact a male subject wearing an orange shirt ran from Officers. The unknown subject ran into the wooded area to the North of Walmart, between Cox Barton County Memorial Hospital and Walmart. 

Several Officers have been in the area searching for the subject but he has not been located. The male subject that fled is described as being approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and approximate weight of 165 to 185 lbs. He has short dark hair with numerous visible tattoos. He was wearing an orange Shirt that is ripped in the back. 

(Update from Barton County Sheriff Mitchell Shaw- Subject Zachary Helvey is in custody. He was taken into custody by several officers from the Lamar Police Department and Barton County Sheriff's Office.)








Subject number one a Kenda Foster of Lamar and Subject number two a Dylan Boydston of Nevada were questioned, however denied having any knowledge of who the subject was that was in the vehicle with them.

The two were checked for active warrants but neither had warrants and were released. If anybody sees a subject fitting that description you are asked to call the Barton County Sheriff's office at 417-682-5541.

During continued investigation information was gathered from the Aurora Police Department.

The subject is believed to be a Zachary W. Helvey, age 32, Aurora. He has an active felony warrant for parole violation.
