Columbus firefighters rescue motorist stranded for nearly nine hours in flood waters

(From Columbus, Kansas Fire Rescure)

At approximately 0945 this morning, firefighters arrived on scene and deployed our small rescue boat to remove a victim from a truck that was washed off the road due to high waters at approximately 1 am this morning.

The patient was removed and released on scene with no injuries.

This urges us to stress the importance of not driving through any flooded roads. You have no idea if the road is washed out beneath it or if there is a strong undercurrent. Please be safe!
