Crowder College honors employees of the year

(From Crowder College)

Three employees of Crowder College received “Employee of the Year” awards for the 2018-19 year at an end-of-year all staff luncheon on May 17th. There was one employee selected from each employee category: faculty, professional staff, and classified staff. Employees were nominated by their peers and/or students and winners were selected by area Chambers of Commerce.

The Gold Star award for faculty went to Debbie Kennedy, Allied Health Programs Division Chair. Former students of Debbie’s remain in contact with her as they feel comfortable asking for advice and direction, and want share what is happening in their lives. Debbie is retiring from Crowder College after nine years of dedicated service. This award is selected and presented by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Professional Staff Employee of the Year award went to Jamie Ward, Counselor. Jamie was nominated based upon her leadership, character, and motivation to help others succeed.

In addition to helping students succeed on a daily basis, she provides great customer service, promotes Crowder College, is a team player within all departments and is highly respected throughout all Crowder campuses and within her community. Jamie cares about others personally and professionally. It is rare to see Jamie without a smile, which is a big part of her approachability and lends itself to easily building rapport with the students and staff she serves.

This award is selected by the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce and presented by the President of the Crowder College Professional Staff Association.

The Classified Staff Employee of the Year award went to Missy Williams, Financial Aid Assistant. Missy was nominated base upon her optimistic outlook and friendly attitude which serve her well as the first one to greet visitors to the Financial Aid Office.
