Crowder dual credit students graduate high school and college at same time

(From Crowder College)

Sixty-five Crowder College Dual Credit students earned a certificate or Associate of Art degree at the same time they earned their high school diploma. Twenty-eight of those graduates earned their AA, which meant they completed at least 61 hours of study.

I could not be more proud of these students and their accomplishments," said Melissa Smith, director of Concurrent Enrollment & Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center. "Each of these students reached above and beyond what was required of their normal high school studies to accomplish something greater.

"Each year we've seen an increase in the number of students waiting to obtain a degree.  Whether it's gaining a high level certificate so they can go straight to work following high school graduation, or like many of those seeking an Associate degree they want to cut their time in half towards the pursuit of a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree.

"These students see the value of higher education and are working hard towards achieving their educational goals.

"Crowder College is proud to partner with so many of our local high school and technical centers who believe in making these opportunities available to students as it's an investment in our future workforce, our schools, as well as strengthens our communities."
