A Joplin man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 8:14 p.m. Tuesday on Marten Road, four miles west of Diamond.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Honda Accord driven by Charles V. Martin, 27, Joplin, drove down an easement and struck a utility pole.
Martin, who was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, was also cited for careless and imprudent driving.
