On May 1st, 2019 at approximately 6:12 pm officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to I-44 Westbound approximately mile marker 8 in reference to a car vs pedestrian crash. Officers responded to the area and located a deceased male.
The deceased male was identified as Andrew J. Clark, 19 years of age Webb City, MO. The next of kin have been notified.
Clark was struck by a west bound semi. The driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Joplin PD Major Crash team responded, and the investigation continues
