Arkansas man arrested for stealing, burglary following pursuit from Joplin to I-44 Mount Vernon exit

On 7-20-20 at approximately 10:15 a.m., Jasper County deputies received a call of a stealing in progress call near 1360 Kenser Rd in Joplin, Mo. 

When deputies arrived, they saw the truck and trailer that was said to be the suspect vehicle leaving the area. 

When deputies attempted to stop the truck, a pursuit began that went to State Highway 249 and eventually onto I-44. 








The truck was successfully spiked by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the suspect was taken into custody near the Mt . Vernon exit. 

Amos J. Duquette, 57, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was arrested for stealing, burglary and felony resisting arrest. 

During the initial investigation there were several Items confirmed stolen from a residence in Jasper County and the suspect’s trailer was also confirmed stolen from Arkansas. 

More charges may arise from this incident as the investigation continues. Jasper County Deputies were assisted on this case by the Sarcoxie Police Department,, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
