Joplin man cited for felony DWI after three injured in crash on Stateline Road

A Joplin man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle crash 9:05 p.m. Monday on Stateline Road, one mile north of Seneca.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2018 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Brian M. Kerns, 19, Joplin, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.









Kerns and a passenger, Blake A. Youngblood, 22, Joplin, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

Another passenger, Kaitlyn S. Tygart, 18, Galena, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy.

In addition to DWI, Kerns was cited for careless and imprudent driving, while Youngblood was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance- xanax
