(From the Galena Police Department)On Tuesday evening officers with the Galena Police Department were dispatched to 512 Bellevue for an open door. When officers arrived, they located a female subject in the residence. While investigating the situation, they identified the subject as Penelope Akard and contacted the homeowner.
The homeowner verified that MS Akard wasn’t supposed to be there and stated several items were missing from the residence.
A search warrant was requested for Ms. Akard’s residence. As a result of the search conducted by officers, several items were recovered.
Penelope Akard, DOB: 07/17/1971 was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail. Charges are being requested for Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Trespass and her Bond is $5000.00
