Lane reductions planned at night on I-44 in Joplin

TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Reductions on I-44 at Night in Joplin for Striping Work June 6-10

When: 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Tuesday-Saturday, June 6-10

Where: These I-44 off ramps and bridges in Joplin:Eastbound I-44 at Exit 1 (U.S. Route 400/U.S. Route 166)

Eastbound and westbound I-44 at Exit 4 (Missouri Route 43)







Eastbound and westbound I-44 at Exit 6 (Missouri Route 43/Main Street)

Eastbound and westbound I-44 at Exit 8 (Business Loop 49/Range Line Road)

What: Contractor crews are doing striping work on the ramps and bridges at the above locations. Work will begin on the ramps and then move to the bridges.

Traffic Impacts

Expect slowed traffic and delays

Drivers will encounter narrowed lanes where crews are working on ramps

Traffic signals flashing red, intersection controlled as four-way stop

Drivers will encounter traffic reduced to one lane where crews are working on the bridges

Crews and equipment working close to traffic

No signed detours







Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones

Drivers urged to find alternate routes

Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
