Neosho teen killed, two Neosho residents suffer serious injuries in head-on crash on 86

A Neosho teen was killed and two people injured in a two-vehicle collision 10 a.m. today on MO 86 near Baxter Street in Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sydnee D. Humphries, 18, Neosho, crossed the center of the road and struck a 2012 Kia Sportage driven by Ellyn S. Anderson, 37, Neosho, head on.

Humphries was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Deputy Coroner Jerry Deems.







Anderson and a passenger in her vehicle, a 4-year-old Neosho boy, were treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

The fatality was the 44th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
