Due to the recent wind storm, the City of Joplin will open the tree limb drop-off site from June 9 through June 13 with hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Joplin residents. The drop-off site is located at 1702 North Schifferdecker Avenue, six tenths of a mile north of Belle Center Road on the west side of Schifferdecker.
Please note that leaves, grass clippings, trash, etc. will not be accepted. In addition, this is a service for Joplin residents, and commercial haulers will not be allowed to drop off tree limbs.
Mary Anne Phillips, Joplin’s Recycling Coordinator, reminds residents that there is another option. “The City’s residential trash service provider, Republic Services, will also pick up tree limbs with the weekly trash. Limbs must be cut to a maximum of four foot lengths and bundled in maximum 50 pounds. Residents should set the tree limb bundles next to their blue polycart.”
For more information, call the Public Works Center at 417-624-0820, ext. 564, the Recycling division, 417-624-0820, ext. 501, or Republic Services at 800-431-1507.
