California couple arrested in Joplin on meth, weapons charges

On 08/19/2015, Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team arrested Jason Olsson, a 33 year old from California.

Olsson was arrested after a traffic stop on 171 HWY in Joplin. A Joplin Police K-9 located 186 grams of suspect methamphetamine in Olsson’s vehicle. Olsson was a target of the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team and was part of an ongoing investigation.

Olsson’s girlfriend Jasmine Bereki, a 26 year old, was located by ODET Detectives at a Joplin Motel where she was arrested on weapon charges.

After further investigation it was determined that both suspects had a storage shed. After obtaining a search warrant for the unit, ODET detectives located another 1002 grams of suspected meth and two more firearms. This puts the total meth seized at 2.6 lbs and three guns recovered. The street value of the meth is around $118,800.

Both suspects were charged in Jasper County with Drug Trafficking and Felon in Possession of Firearms. Their bonds were set at $250,000 cash only.
