On Friday, August 14, 2015 at 14:47 hours officers with the Webb City Police Department were called to 1723 South Madison (US Bank) in Webb City in reference to an armed robbery. The suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun in his waistband and grabbed money off the counter. The suspect fled the bank in grey 2004 Dodge Ram four door truck. The suspect is described as male with medium complexion skin, 5’08”-5’10” tall, 125#-150# wearing blue pants with a wide grey stripe, a grey hooded sweatshirt, a facemask, Mechanix gloves, and clear safety glasses. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.
At 15:12 hours officers spotted the Dodge truck used in the robbery abandoned in a nearby apartment complex (1836 South Oronogo in Webb City) parking lot. The Dodge truck had been reported stolen on August 5, 2015 from Joplin. The license plate on the truck had been reported stolen on August 5, 2015 also from Joplin. A K-9 track from the truck lead officers to a nearby apartment building. The building was searched but no one was located.
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Joplin Police Department and agents with the Joplin office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation are assisting with the investigation.
