Three injured in three-vehicle accident near Neosho

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 4:08 p.m. Friday on U. S. 60, three miles east of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Ford Windstar driven by Joshua L. Gose, 30, Springfield, was stopped in traffic to make a left turn onto northbound MO 59. A 2013 Chevrolet driven by Shala Bass, 25, Diamond, slowed to a stop behind the Gose vehicle and was struck in the rear by a 2013 Chevrolet driven by Jesse R. Merritt, 25, Aurora.

The Bass vehicle hit the Gose vehicle in the rear and traveled off the south edge of the roadway. The Merritt vehicle continued east and struck the Gose vehicle in the rear.

Merritt was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Bass and Gose were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
