According to the Highway Patrol report, Rachael N. Staib, 16, Goodman, driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero, made a right turn into the path of a 2013 Volvo driven by Javier A. Gonzalez 46, Houston, Texas, The Gonzalez vehicle struck the Staib vehicle, While attempting to avoid the collision, the Gonzalez vehicle swerved in the northbound lane and collided with a 2005 Ford Escape, driven by Amanda J. Hughes, 31, Goodman. The Gonzalez vehicle then hit a 2005 Honda CRV driven by Peggy J. Wooden, 67, Anderson.
Staib was airlifted to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Curtis Cox at 4:25 p.m.
Her brother and sister, Hailey Staib, 11, and Nathaniel Staib, 6, both of Goodman were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West. Hughes and a passenger in her vehicle, Trevor D. Pulliam, 19, Anderson, were also treated for minor injuries at Freeman West.
The fatality was the 80th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
A candelight vigil for Rachael Staib will be held 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Town Hole in Anderson.

I highly doubt that an illegal immigrant would be driving a 2013 Volvo for starters, and even if he was illegal, just as a previous comment stated, would it bring Rachael back?

If Gonzalez is not here legally, what would it change? That poor girl will still be gone. All of us, except for the full blooded native Americans, are immigrants. Prayers for all involved, whether they are "legal" or not.
