Joplin Police arrest Kansas City man for convenience store robbery

On Monday evening August 24th, 2015 at 10:56 p.m. the Joplin Police Department received a call from the Gas Trip convenient store located at 3525 East Newman Road, in reference to a robbery. 

The suspect, described as light skinned African American male, wearing a black hoodie, black mask, and dark pants entered the store displaying a handgun. The suspect demanded money and assaulted a patron of the store prior to leaving with cash.
 
Witnesses observed the suspect running from the scene and officers were able to locate the suspect in an apartment at 928 North Goetz Ave. Anthony T. Parker, 18 of Kansas City was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Joplin City Jail for the Robbery, Armed Criminal Action, and 1st degree assault, pending charges with the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office.
