Sunday night, Officer Bindel of our Department stopped a car with no registration on it. He noticed a smell of controlled substance and upon searching the vehicle, narcotics were discovered along with over 80 pills that are also controlled. There were also several items that were determined to be stolen property.
These thefts happened in Carl Junction and in Jasper County. There were also items that appeared to have been stolen from out of our area and we are working to try and find victims.
Shaun Chester of Arkansas was arrested along with Britni DeBerry of Webb City. This is a prime example of while performing a normal traffic stop, the officer paid attention to what was going on and solved some local crimes. Good Job, Officer Bindel.
