Police; Seneca man arrested after beating wife, taking off with children

On 08/06/2017, Officers were called out to a residence on Zane Drive in reference to a domestic situation. 

Upon arrival officers learned a male suspect had been in a physical altercation with his wife. When officers spoke to the victim they observed numerous marks on her body that were consistent with physical abuse, along with broken sheet rock in the residence. 

The victim stated the suspect got the victim and the children into the car and drove carelessly at a high rate of speed. 

It was learned the suspect lost control of the vehicle and slid off the road into a ditch and was able to get the vehicle back under control. The victim stated they made it back to the house and the suspect fled the scene in his truck. A short time later officers were able to locate the suspect at an address on Peoria Street. The suspect was taken into custody. 

The suspect was transported to the Newton County Jail where he was booked. The suspect has been charged with domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child x's 2, careless and imprudent driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
