This morning, August 7, 2018, at 4:20 a.m. the Joplin Police Department received a call to the 200 Block of North Walnut for a report of a male in the caller’s yard who had been stabbed.
Officers arrived and located an adult male in the front yard with a stab wound to the side of his torso. Officers began giving the male medical attention until METS and Joplin Fire arrived.
METS transported the male to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident was determined to have occurred at 221 North Walnut. Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating. No arrest has been made.
