Southwest City man arrested for DWI, felony leaving scene of an accident after hitting, injuring pedestrian

A Southwest City man has been charged with driving while intoxicated and felony leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a pedestrian 6:25 p.m. Tuesday on Frye Road, one mile east of Southwest City.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Honda Civic driven by Travis M. Reid, 26, Southwest City, struck Robert D. Blevins, 47, Southwest City in the road and then left the scene.

Blevins was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Reid was also charged with careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident, no valid driver's license and for not wearing a seat belt.
