(From Southern News Service)
“Look to Norway,” a group exhibition by art and design students at Missouri Southern State University, will open Monday, Aug. 13, in Spiva Art Gallery.
The works featured in the exhibit express the history, landscape and aesthetic of Norway. Students Susan Griffith, Cicily Atkinson, Amber Wagner, Hunter Mills, Jenson Maydew and Brett Dorrance had a firsthand view of the country during the Spring 2018 International Art Seminar.
Students visited art and cultural museums, national treasures and historic sites during their travels to Oslo, Flam and Bergen. The works created for “Look to Norway” were inspired by their experiences.
A reception will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, with an Artist Talk at 4:30 p.m.
The exhibit marks the first event in the Norway Semester at Missouri Southern.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The show, which is free and open to the public, will run through Thursday, Aug. 30.
