Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization seeking comment period on planning work program

The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) is seeking a 7-day public comment period for an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). This amendment involves continuing a task from FY 2018 that still needs to be finished. It also involves adding “Task 8: Update the Pedestrian Transportation System Component of ADA Transition Plans for the Cities of Joplin, Webb City, and Carl Junction”. The public comment period begins at 8 a.m., December 12 and ends at 5 p.m., December 19.

Comments for any portion of the UPWP Amendment may be submitted for consideration. JATSO is the transportation planning agency for the Joplin metropolitan area, as designated by the federal government, and its goal is to provide for regional mobility. The UPWP is a document that designates federal funds for JATSO Planning activities in the upcoming fiscal year.



All comments must be received by 5:00 P.M., December 19, 2018. Comments may be submitted to: Edward Whitmore, Joplin City Hall, 602 S. Copies of the proposed UPWP amendment may be obtained at: Joplin City Hall, 4th floor, 602 S. Main St.; City Hall in Webb City, 200 S. Main St.; or Carl Junction City Hall, 303 N. Main Street.
