Rob Thomas named grand marshal of Joplin Christmas Parade

(From Freeman Health System)

Freeman Health System is pleased to announce Rob Thomas, Sam’s Club Manager, will serve as grand marshal of the 48th Annual Joplin Christmas Parade.

The parade will take place 6 p.m. today (Tuesday, December 4).

The Joplin Sam’s Club is a proud supporter of Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals® and has been the top fundraising club in the nation two years in a row.

In the past four years, employees at the Joplin location have raised more than $150,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through banner sales, rummage sales and carnivals.

After a procession of emergency medical services vehicles, Thomas will lead the Joplin Christmas Parade, followed by nearly 100 parade entrants. The theme of this year’s parade is “Santa’s Workshop.” Entrants are encouraged to use their creativity to fly to the North Pole and decorate accordingly.

The parade route starts at 15th and Main streets and runs north to Third Street. Funds generated by the 2018 Joplin Christmas Parade will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, which provides assistance to children from birth to 21 years of age in a 14-county area in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.
