A few pockets of light snow and sleet may develop late tonight near and just east of the U.S. 65 corridor. However, no impacts to roadways are expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. A winter storm system will affect the region from Friday into Saturday evening. Mostly snow is expected across central Missouri and the eastern Ozarks with a wintry mix of snow, light freezing rain, and sleet expected over much of the remainder of the outlook area. Areas along the I-49 corridor from Joplin southward will see mostly rain with a brief changeover to snow as precipitation ends later Saturday. Snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected from the Lake of the Ozarks region down to around Salem. A swath of 2 to 4 inch snowfall amounts are expected from around Truman Lake through the Springfield metropolitan area to around Bull Shoals Lake. Amounts from a dusting to two inches are expected across far western Missouri and southeastern Kansas. A thin glaze of ice will also be possible along and south of a Cassville to Willard to Conway to Eminence line.
