(From the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office)

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a rural Riverton area just after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday night, after a man had received non-life-threatening injuries during an altercation which resulted in him being stabbed. The man was transported to a Joplin hospital and later released.

The investigation led detectives to seek and obtain a search warrant for the residence at 502 West 14th Street in Baxter Springs.

Methamphetamine, along with items consistent with the distribution of illegal drugs, were located and seized during the execution of the warrant.

Also arrested was 68-year-old Deeta Olds. She is being held in the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a School, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Her bond has been set at $57,000.00.
