Missouri Southern State University will be the home to more than 800 middle and high school students as it hosts the 2019 Missouri TSA (Technology Student Association) State Conference.
The three-day event - which begins on Sunday, April 14 and runs through Tuesday, April 16 – will feature more than 60 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) competitions.
“We are looking forward to the excitement these students will bring to campus,” said Dr. Elke Howe, chair of Missouri Southern’s Engineering Technology Department. “Many of our professors and students – as well as those in other departments - have committed their time to participate as judges, provide demonstrations and conduct tours. It truly is going to be a team effort.”
MSSU has been involved with TSA since 2013, and has hosted the regional conference numerous times. This will be the first year the university will host the state competition.
The Technology Student Association is recognized as the Career and Technology Student Association exclusively dedicated to students interested in STEM fields. TSA allows students to demonstrate and expand their high tech knowledge and skills. It also offers students opportunities to participate in leadership activities that will prepare them for the high tech, science or engineering workplace.
