Minimum criteria to be eligible for hire as a Police Officer:
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; valid driver’s license; and possession of current Missouri P.O.S.T. certification OR possession of P.O.S.T. certification from another state and eligibility to obtain Missouri P.O.S.T. certification prior to employment.
1. Minimum 21 years of age.
2. Possession of current Missouri P.O.S.T. certification OR possession of P.O.S.T. certification from another state and eligibility to obtain Missouri P.O.S.T. certification prior to employment.
3. No previous felony convictions or misdemeanors involving domestic violence or moral turpitude.
4. Possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
5. Successful completion of the departmental testing process, a final background and pre-employment drug screening.
Prefer (but do not require) two (2) years law enforcement experience and/or an Associate degree in Law Enforcement, Police Science or closely related field.
Applicants who successfully complete the written, physical performance and oral portions of the testing, which involve a preliminary background check, will be placed on a “pre-qualified” list for one calendar year.
As vacancies occur for Police Officers, and the applicant has attained the qualifications listed above, selected candidates will be subjected to an oral examination, a final background check, including a computerized voice stress examination, and a pre-employment physical, psychological, and drug screening.
The City of Webb City reserves the right to remove any applicant from the eligibility list without cause.
Salary: Starting salary $31,200.00 - $42,910.40 based on experience.
