Graduation ceremonies for Missouri Southern State University and three area high schools will be broadcast by KGCS-TV over the next two weeks.
The coverage begins with live coverage of the Missouri Southern commencement ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and noon on Saturday, May 10.
The 9:30 a.m. ceremony features the Schools of Arts and Sciences and Health Sciences. The noon ceremony features the Schools of Business and Education. Those ceremonies will be rebroadcast the following week: the 9:30 ceremony at 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, and the noon ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.
Area high-school ceremonies are also being covered by KGCS-TV. They begin with live coverage of the Carl Junction High School ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 11. That ceremony will be rebroadcast at 8 p.m. Monday, May 19. The Webb City High School commencement ceremony will be recorded Friday, May 16, and broadcast 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. The Joplin High School graduation will be aired live at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18.
In addition to covering the commencement ceremonies, KGCS is offering DVDs of each ceremony for sale. Persons interested in a copy may find an order form on the station website, www.mssu.edu/kgcs/ or call 417-625-9777 for more information.
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems including Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink. It is operated as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
