A Joplin woman and her grandson were injured in a one-vehicle accident 2:40 p.m. today on I-44 at the 159 mile marker in St. Robert in Pulaski County.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Linda G. Mitchell, 68, Joplin, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, then overturned several times before ending up on its top.
Mitchell was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, where she was treated for serious injuries.
A passenger, Brian Caruthers, 7, Joplin, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
